About Me

Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, Alex developed a deep interest in film and other forms of visual storytelling. He would leverage youthful experiences shooting shorts in the proverbial backyard (and a couple of mini-docs about local institutions) into pursuing a degree from Emerson College. It was there he promptly learned that he had a special affinity for all things editing and post-production, a field that harnessed his honed artistic taste, creative faculties and technical prowess all at once.

After learning Avid and Premiere and relocating officially to Los Angeles post-graduation, Alex’s career quickly gained momentum as he accumulated freelance Assistant Editor and Editor credits on a variety of feature films, shorts, documentaries, VR projects, live-event coverage, narrative web series, UGC-based clip shows, commercials, sizzle reels, branded content and political ads. His technical experience with different workflows, disciplines and delivery platforms truly runs the gamut. And as a cutter, his sense of story, pace and rhythm are among his key strengths.

He often works remotely from a home office with a spec’d-out Mac workstation and a speedy Internet connection, but he is also available to work on-site. Analytical, forward-thinking and adept at assimilating new technologies and styles (and keyboard shortcuts), he is ready to help make your post-production process — whether it be for film, TV, YouTube or social — as efficient, organized and creatively fortuitous as it can possibly be.

When not hard at work, Alex can often be found getting the absolute most out of his AMC A-List subscription or sampling LA’s bountiful repertory cinema offerings. But don’t worry, he gets a break from dark rooms and screens every once in a while.
